The Service Innovation Lab (SIL) is a BMVBS funded project of the International SEPT-Program of the University of Leipzig. Central goal of SIL is the generation and implementation of new services based on technologies and service concepts developed at the University of Leipzig. This is a contribution to the promotion of technology transfer in the service sector in Leipzig.

Apart from its cooperation with institutions, SEPT works with German and foreign enterprises. As a consequence, CONOSCOPE GmbH was founded in 2010 by the companies INNOWAYS GmbH, Kontur 21 GmbH and inomic GmbH. These companies have each more than 10 years of experience in their respective fields and have common roots as they were all spin-offs from the University of Leipzig and concentrate their activities in Innovation Management.

Within the study framework of the International SEPT Program, students work with real cases in cooperation with selected companies worldwide. Aim is to support the participating companies to develop their markets and implement suitable strategies on the basis of regional specialized knowledge and business competences. Typically a team of 2-4 MBA students realizes a research project under the supervision of one SEPT faculty member. This service is free of charge for enterprises in order support the economic development.
